I have been teaching yoga for over five years and practising it for fourteen, learning about my mind and body through movement and stillness. My principal influence has been from Scaravelli-inspired yoga. Its emphasis on the spine, the breath and the ground, rather than the pose, makes this practice a creative and enjoyable one. I have also completed a postgraduate course with John Stirk who takes you beneath your layers of conditioning. My yoga classes aim to have an internal focus whilst working through a series of movements. The body learns and heals through movement. I take a theme for each class and apply it to the movements so that the body can re-learn to move intelligently. At present, I am immersed in the work of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, so am bringing her wonderful influences into the class.
