I love yoga, practising it, teaching it, living it. My teaching has in many ways mirrored my life, my interests and abilities. I am trained in and have taught many different styles of yoga but I have always been fascinated by the restorative and healing affects of yoga practices. Now all my classes are heavily influenced by this and a mindful approach. I teach with a warm heart and a sense of humour, encouraging students to work with kindness and curiosity. For me yoga is an opportunity to meet ourselves more fully where we are with a smile.
My yoga qualifications include a 500hr Teacher Training Diploma with the British Wheel in 2008 and a Teacher Training 4wk Course at the Sivananda Ashram in 2009. Since then I’ve completed specialist training in pregnancy yoga, post-natal yoga, kids yoga and mindfulness, restorative yoga and yoga nidra, hynobirthing and reiki. I teach regular weekly group classes, 121s, specialist workshops, retreats and trainings.
Recently I’ve moved more into teacher training. I co-created and deliver 3 days of the LushTums Post-Natal Teacher Trainer Course and also train teachers in their Pregnancy Yoga Course. I have also created and delivered an introduction into ‘Classroom Yoga and Mindfulness Practices for Schools’.
My future learning plans include a 3 day Yoga Nidra for Therapeutics course in April 2017, a Yoga Therapy Diploma starting in 2018 and teaching a Continued Professional Development day for the British Wheel in 2018.
Everyday I am learning, adapting and adjusting how I move, teach and be. I hope to get the opportunity to share some of these explorations with you on your mat soon.
