I qualified as a yoga teacher in 1998, at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India. Since that time I have established a successful yoga business, teaching in Health Clubs, Spas, Offices and privately in London and Brighton and running very well attended yoga holidays in Spain, France, Turkey, Greece and Sinai. My yoga holidays are run with my husband Davy who is an Astanga teacher. We also run one day yoga workshops in Brighton.
My style has evolved over the years into an eclectic mix of hatha vinyasa flow, drawing on astanga, scaravelli, yin and Iyengar traditions. My classes are quite challenging but always fun and open to all; softer options are offered for those less fit or experienced. Pregnant yogis familiar to yoga are welcomed. Meditation and pranayama will be offered in some classes and I always begin and end each class with savasana. My working timetable also includes teaching Astanga, a yin style restorative class as well as my hatha vinyasa style flow class. Recently I have been involved with a local charity teaching yoga to less able and elderly students. I am very used to adapting and accommodating classes for the students who are there on the day!
My knowledge of yoga is constantly being expanded through regular attendance at workshops and retreats and through the experience of other teachers and of course the latest articles and books. I have been running a vinyasa flow style class at Studio iO since last October. Yoga is a big part of my life, my hobby and my career and I do so love to share and see others enjoy this wonderful practice!
